the 14th part of my svt discography review!

Ranking system:

🍇 - 10.0 BNM one of their most iconic slays
🍉 - fantastic song that made me feel something
🍓 - eating, a few flaws that are either easy to overlook or a bit charming
🍊 - good background music but i wouldn't seek it out
🍌 - it does nothing for me but isn't outright offensive
🍐 - does nothing for me and is offensive
🍈 - so bad that it almost wraps back around to good just bc i was laffing so much

🍐 🍈 Game Boi
Okay so…making mingyu rap about video games on a hyperpop song is really funny. Vernon mentioning bitcoin AND nfts in a single song is really funny. Wonu on that hook just yelling GAME GAME GAME GAME tunelessly is really funny. Scoups channeling like, really really really drunk hongjoong on his verse is really funny. Listening to this song in full feels like I’m being punched in the gut over and over by wonu. It’s kinda funny the consistent topics between this and bands boy lmfjfigoifdjggf like was vern going through an era of being worried about disappointing his dad and also referring to his friends as his OGs? This song is more of a skit/interlude I can’t listen to it as music

🍇 Heaven’s Cloud
Wasn’t this originally supposed to be the title track or did I make that up? It’s good enough to be a title track. I’m not sure what a love cloud is but I don’t think it necessarily matters. Like actually the lyrics are fucking stupid if you read them but it sounds like…the magnitude of it is so funny actually lol like do you hear Wonu lamenting on that chorus like they weren’t talking about “cooking love on the dish” thirty seconds before lmfao. I also notice more and more they’re in their era of like…making everyone sing no matter what lol. But this song isn’t a song that suffers for that quality thankfully. Imagine hearing this at claire’s I would spend all my facking money.

🍇 Ready to Love
I think this was the first seventeen song I remember paying attention to on purpose and it wasn’t even because of Jeonghan’s hair it’s just because the song is facking good as fuckkkk…I remember thinking it was legitimately sweet-sounding which wasn’t something I was used to hearing in kpop lol I was like why are you guys moved? Also do you hear the way it knocks? Like I could beatttttt someone up to this song so bad, they probably wouldn’t survive. I wish the mv had more of long hair jeonghan in the rain…did I not deserve to see that? Genuinely a romantic song and I still have a soft spot for her just because of that.

🍇 Anyone
Well first of all I can’t help but think about them all on that facking racecar track thing. But if I ignore that…it’s unfair how hard this knocks. Why does DK sound so good. Wonu on this album: let me sing my little heart out… Oh that vern part is kinda… does he need me… does he want me to make out with him… sometimes I understand dollys for one second and feel crazy and need to quickly stop understanding them. Like idk he sold that… The guitar riff in this is fucking and sucking me. Aww jeonghan at the end lol.

🍇 Same dream same mind same night
The attachment I have to this song needs to be studied…I played it for my mom and she sort of made fun of me and I understand why, but…like…bro has a GORGEOUS voice… bro is literally serenading us right now… (DK, but also the rest of them.) I’ve never heard jeonghan sound so moved aww my little lounge singer… but man, that facking DK…it’s just not fair…I’m like scared of him a bit…the siren’s call… going to karaoke with that man must be a total nightmare… I like the final chorus where everyone’s just screaming in the background gjrdiogjdiofhjd literally how I would feel listening to this song on the bus on the way to work lmfao

🍇 Wave
This is probably one of the best songs they’ve ever made and I’m serious. Like I could put this song on my normal music playlist and have it on the aux and everyone would probably fuck with it (you would hope). They tapped into something here that needs to be revisited cuz like…I genuinely feel like I’m sorta having a spiritual experience when I hear this song lol. It’s a shame I don’t do drugs anymore cuz like…imagine doing poppers to this song idkkkkkkkk also this is some of the best production they’ve ever had in their whole discography like this is top 10 moment
