the 25th part of my svt discography review! in a bizarre twist, jeonghan and wonu have teamed up for a subunit! i'm assuming this is their pre-military goodbye or something, but the fact that it's called 'first single album' is like...is there gonna be a second? is this gonna be a thing from now on? i'm not complaining because JEONGHAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!
Ranking system:
🍇 - 10.0 BNM one of their most iconic slays
🍉 - fantastic song that made me feel something
🍓 - eating, a few flaws that are either easy to overlook or a bit charming
🍊 - good background music but i wouldn't seek it out
🍌 - it does nothing for me but isn't outright offensive
🍐 - does nothing for me and is offensive
🍈 - so bad that it almost wraps back around to good just bc i was laffing so much

I mean...what do I say about Jeongsolo...There were so many options he could've gone with and he chose...this...just...leave me alone...I need some time to myself...How is this the same person who wrote the nastiest part of Flower lol. How is this the same person who wrote purple rose. How is this the same person who did the bridge on campfire?! How is this the same person who sounded so beautiful on habit?! Do you care about your career at all?!?!? Don't answer that, actually...I'm just happy you're still doing alright...like your health is most important so release flops if you gotta, man...just don't die on me...
🍈LEFTOVER
Unlike Jeonghan, Wonu was like hold up let me get in that studio and write a break-up ballad called garbage from the trash CUZ THAT'S HOW SHE TREATED ME. Oh man that chorus is funny. But funny is better than beautiful monster. And he's trying to sing, like that's REAL EFFORT right there. "The trash you threw away...became love" oh man never dump a cancer man. They get so insufferable. When you go to prom with the nerd and then ghost his ass be like. "No matter the tomorrow, know that I am waiting" i BET you are, my man. like idk i wouldn't voluntarily listen to this but i'm kinda proud of him the same way i'd be proud of the shy characters on glee when they finally get their big solo moment fisdghidfjgdfgh. literally when the nerd finds his confidence.
🍓/🍊LAST NIGHT
This is the title track, and thus the only duet. They've got some cool guitar on it and Jeonghan seems like he gave more of a fuck than he did on recent svt tracks. If more of the song was like that chorus...I think I'd like this. Not really sure what that drop is...Jeonghan sounds fine on the chorus but why are we putting his voice anywhere else. Wonu is kinda serving, so good for him. (Cue JJFs coping and seething) This is very obviously a yaoi song but I don't buy them as a star-crossed lovers type deal. Jeonghan falsetto bridge managed to be nice! Like this is better than maestro but the bar is sorta in hell. I liked the MV, for what it's worth! Idk it's like high-concept and all slinky/sultry but at the same time why do I feel like they just phoned it in??? It shouldn't feel like this...WHY DIDN'T THEY LEAN INTO THAT CHORUS MORE? like you let the bass get nasty for one second and then you DOO-DOO-DOODOODOO-DOO-DOO-DOODOODOO ass drop like you're joking me rn. Whatever. Mixed bag. I'll take what I can get. I can eat around the stuff I don't like.
