šŸ“ - eating, a few flaws that are either easy to overlook or a bit charming
šŸŠ - good background music but i wouldn't seek it out
šŸŒ - it does nothing for me but isn't outright offensive
šŸ - does nothing for me and is offensive
šŸˆ - so bad that it almost wraps back around to good just bc i was laffing so much

(note: tracklists are not in album order. they are very loosely ranked)

šŸˆ Fallin’ for you
Um…well, it’s…(a Christmas story dad voice) a can of simon eyes…I wonder what was going through woozi’s head during the recording of this song. Let’s set the stage.

(Jihan enter the studio. Josh is smiling and confident, Jeonghan trailing slightly behind him, looking nervous.)

Woozi: oh, hey guys. What’s up?

Josh: jeonghan and I wanna do a duet on that special album thingy.

Woozi: you what…?

Josh: you heard me. A duet! I think the fans would really love it. We wrote the lyrics already, take a look.

(Woozi accepts the paper from Josh, looking baffled.)

Josh: so, what do you think?

Woozi: um, Jeonghan, do you really want to do this…?

Jeonghan: eheheh…yeah, don’t you think the fans will be happy…?

Woozi: …..

Josh: they love us together.

Jeonghan: eheheh, yeah…

Woozi: …..

Josh: and I can use my falsetto, I’m always good at that.

Woozi: …..

Woozi: joshua, I can never tell when you’re being sarcastic.

šŸŠ Thinkin’ about you
The millennial whoops in the chorus…could’ve done without those. I mean, it’s another one where I’m not sure if my headphones were working properly just cuz those crazy synths are so high in the mix that it makes everything sound fuzzy. The organ sounds are nice, as are the kalimba(?) sounds. I think the prechorus is the best part of this song, the chorus itself is just kinda whatever and the postchorus is a bit of a rocket voice mess lol. The bridge is cute and there’s some bizarre almost witch house type synths for a few seconds which was kinda funny. Not the best song ever but it’s fine.

šŸ‡ Run to You
I know a lot of people including my kid brother have beef with this song due to the awful mixing on the guitars. But I didn’t come into this expecting to rock out. I came into this expecting anime OP realness and that’s exactly what I got. Again, I think Woozi is just really good at writing this type of song…and honestly, the mixing isn’t that bad, it’s kinda nice to hear real instruments being played in a kpop song lol. Obviously this would be better if the guitars were a little higher in the mix but I can live with it. Everyone sounds great here too, I think the line distribution here is just about perfect. That final chorus where booseok are just yelling at each other is kinda awesome if I’m being real with you. Is it okay if I give this a grape? I had a great time.

šŸ‡ Thanks
One of the best kpop songs that exists. I mean…THIS is how you do a ā€˜for the fans’ song. Like…this was a very special moment in time for them and you can tell, they’re just so grateful to be given the opportunity to do what they love for a living and there’s this sense of disbelief that permeates the whole thing. Idk there’s something pure about it, just this overwhelming desire to thank the people who have made it possible for them to live out their wildest dreams. We know this gratitude eventually curdles into something different and equally compelling on later tracks, but for a moment in time, everything was wonderful.
